Sam D. Hamilton Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge

Bluff Lake's boardwalk and observation tower are the best bet for gators at this east Mississippi refuge, with sightings most common in warmer months as gators bask along the lake margins. It's a quiet, low-traffic refuge compared to the coastal sites, so mornings are peaceful and productive. Keep to the boardwalk and tower platform rather than the lake edge itself. Feeding wildlife on the refuge is prohibited.
