Myakka River State Park
Myakka Lake holds one of the densest gator populations in Florida, easily seen from the boardwalk, the lake outlet bridge, or from park airboat tours. Dry season (winter into spring) concentrates gators near the remaining open water. The bridge over the lake outlet is a classic spot to watch from above with real separation from the water. Stick to trails and the boardwalk rail and skip the urge to feed or bait for photos.
