Huntington Beach State Park

The causeway road into the park crosses freshwater marsh where gators are visible right from the roadside pull-offs, no hiking required. Spring and summer are most reliable for basking gators near the causeway edges. It's an easy stop for families, but don't get out and walk to the water's edge for a closer photo; the causeway view is close enough. Feeding is illegal and enforced here.
